Gor Mahia suffer another friendly defeat

The Brazilian has been at the helm of the former champions for one and a half years after taking over from Frank Nuttall

Gor Mahia registered another dismal display to fall 3-2 to Administration Police in a friendly played at Camp Toyoyo grounds on Thursday.

Kevin ‘Ade’ Omondi returned to haunt his former club after he notched a double denying K’Ogalo a win in four straight pre-season matches. However, Gor Mahia took a deserved lead through Godfrey Walusimbi before George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo added the second for the former champions.

‘Ade’ then pulled a goal back for the law enforcers and Eric Mata was at hand to make it 2-2. ‘Ade’ then banged home the winning goal that extends Gor Mahia’s poor run in pre-season. Gor Mahia fielded a strong side in the first half with Shaban Odhoji starting in goal but coach Ze Maria made wholesale changes in the second period – the time they collapsed to defeat.

Meanwhile, Mathare United registered two wins in friendly matches played at Goal Institute grounds. The ‘Slum Boys’ edged out Fresha FC 1-0 courtesy of Cliff Nyakeya before they cruised past Dandora All Stars 3-0. Against Dandora, Mathare United scored through Elijah Mwanzia, who grabbed a double and Chris Ochieng’.
