Gordon Ramsay's Next Level Chef will not be renewed for a second run by ITV. The first series saw 12 aspiring cooks battle it out to win £100,000 and invaluable mentorship from renowned chefs, before social media star Jade Greenhalgh went on to win.

Ramsay, alongside his production company Studio Ramsay, led the show with the support of judges Paul Ainsworth and Nyesha Arrington.

It has now been reported by The Sun that the show will not be renewed as the ratings weren't high enough, with a spokesperson for ITV stating: "There are no current plans for a second series but viewers can watch series one on ITVX."

The restauranteur has led many competitive cookery shows over the years such as Future Food Stars, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and the US MasterChef.

In the meantime, Ramsay may still be set to return to the small screen with Fred Sirieix for another series of Road Trip for ITV. It comes after his co-star Gino D'Acampo made the shock announcement that he won't be returning for the beloved cooking travel show.

Stating that contract and filming schedule conflicts were starting to interfere with his professional and personal life, he revealed that his friendship with Ramsay and Sirieix is his priority over the show.

"When contracts start to get very complicated, then it becomes very stressful, and I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much, that I'd rather [have] the friendship than getting [into] arguments with the contracts," he said on TikTok.

After four series and a handful of specials together, the show's future has not been confirmed without D'Acampo, nor whether someone else will replace the This Morning chef on the show.

The first season of Next Level Chef is available to stream on ITVX now.
