Govt should take calculated COVID risk, open schools in appropriate way: IMA

New Delhi, Aug 31 (ANI): Several states have allowed re-opening of schools with restrictions; the Indian Medical Association (IMA) termed it a positive move but said that the government should take strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols and open schools in an appropriate way. “This is a positive move but strict protocol needs to be followed. This is a very complex decision which has to be taken. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been issued by the various state governments. It's the right time when government should come forward and take a calculated risk and open the schools in an appropriate way,” said IMA president Dr JA Jayalal.
