Thus far, The Crown has focused on the British royal family, but season four could feature a Princess from the House of Grimaldi.

Cast and crew from the Netflix series about Queen Elizabeth's reign were recently spotted filming at Winchester Cathedral. Judging by the somber costumes of stars like Olivia Colman and Helena Bonham Carter, who play the British monarch and her sister Princess Margaret respectively, and extras on set, they appear to be recreating Lord Mountbatten's funeral in 1979, with the Cathedral standing in for Westminster Abbey.

An Instagram post from inside the church by user Julie Wharton also shows some props from the show, including a program from the funeral, and an order of service.

In addition to members of British royal family, who came to pay their respects to "Uncle Dickie," as he was fondly known, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco were also in attendance at the service, and seen standing next to Prince Albert of Belgium.

In her pre-royal life, Grace Kelly had admired Lord Mountbatten, and according to his daughter Pamela Hicks, she even kept a "cut out photograph of him" as a schoolgirl.

And once she married Prince Rainier, the Princess became part of Mountbatten's social circle. "Grace Kelly came for a weekend at Broadlands and she was beautiful," Hicks recalled on her daughter India's podcast. "She spent the whole time complaining that you couldn't get colored Kleenex in England. Pink Kleenex."

At this point, it's unclear if Princess Grace will play a role in season four of The Crown, but an actor on set was spotted wearing a similar ensemble to Prince Albert's funeral attire, so it's quite likely that she'll at least be in the background of the funeral scene. We'll continue to update this post as more information becomes available.
