The Internet has always been great, but over these past couple weeks it's basically become our main source of communication, entertainment, and education. Not only can we virtually tour numerous museums and attractions right from our couches and/or pillow forts, but a myriad of resources have been released online to the public for the first time ever. Believe me, I never imagined I'd be practicing myGrammys acceptance speech while learning the foundations of electronic music during the middle of a pandemic, but when you’re in quarantine for weeks, literally anything can happen (cue Ellie Goulding voice).

Let me explain. While the GrammyMuseum in Los Angeles is currently closed, it has created a section on its website called "Museum at Home," where never-before-released content from the museum's archives has been made available to the public. This hub offers a collection of lessons, virtual exhibits, and interviews with musicians, so aspiring musicians and fans can continue to immerse themselves in music education during the museum's closure. The tagline of the section is "doors closed, mission open."

The Museum at Home page is updated daily with a new segment. On Sundays and Tuesdays, a music education lesson or activity program will be added like Electronic Music Production Lesson 1: Introduction, Video Production Lesson 1: Introduction and Music of the Civil Rights Movement Lesson 1. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, a public program will be pulled from the museum's robust archives. These public programs are essentially sit-down interviews with artists and musicians like Bob Newhart and X Ambassadors.

Today a public program with Billie Eilish and Finneas goes live, while programs from Andrea Bocelli (April 8) and Common (April 13) will be released later this month. You can except to see virtual exhibits from Whitney Houston (April 10), Frank Sinatra (April 17), and Ella Fitzgerald (April 24) this month, too. Also, future education lessons include Careers Through Music Video Series: Skill Building (April 5), Grammy in the Schools Mini Lesson 1 (April 12).

The Grammy Museum has also created a Spotify playlist called Grammy Museum Staff Picks frequently updated by staff so we can see what they're jamming out to. You can check out the Museum at Home hub here.
