Grand Army on Netflix season 2 needs to address these BIG issues

Netflix's Grand Army left a number of its characters in quite the predicament at the end of season one, with multiple question marks hanging over its main players.
The streaming giant hasn't revealed whether the teen drama has been renewed for more episodes, but if it does return, the following plot points will need some serious attention.
Will Jayson's protest work?
Grand Army was not kind to Owen. The talented saxophonist was suspended from school for a harmless prank, in turn missing out on playing at the prestigious Lincoln Centre. Jayson, who was an alternate, was offered his seat and he took it.
But despite saying yes, he was clearly uncomfortable and as Jayson stood to play his solo in front of a packed crowd, he stopped, took out some black tape and placed it across his mouth, before raising his fist in solidarity with Owen.
It was a bold move, word of which will undoubtedly get back to the Grand Army students and faculty, and to his best friend.
But will Jayson's gamble pay off?
Will Owen be accepted back by the school and take up his rightful place on the Lincoln Centre stage? And will the headmaster admit that Grand Army is failing its Black, Asian and minority ethnic students?
Is Joey about to get justice?
What should have been just another fun night partying with her pals turned into a nightmare for Joey when she was raped by George and Luke, two of her best friends.
Tim, also one of her closest allies, sat back and did nothing.
Joey transferred schools following the ordeal and reported the incident to the police, but the case was dropped due a lack of evidence and it looked like all three of them would avoid repercussions.
But in the final episode, Tim confronted George and Luke about what had happened that night in the taxi.
"You know exactly what went down," he said. "I know you do."
Tim's sister Anna, who had previously believed that the three of them were innocent, looked visibly shaken.
Will Tim finally do the right thing and tell the police what he witnessed? And will Joey return to Grand Army?
Plus, will she be able to forgive Anna for not standing by her side?
What's next for Dominique?
After a bumpy ride, the gods finally decided to give Dominique something to smile about.
Her mum decided that she wasn't going to allow her daughter to marry someone she didn't know or love to boost the family's finances, which left Dom free to ask John to prom.
And she was also accepted into the Sisters Thrive summer internship programme, which she almost missed out on after turning up late to her interview.
But her school prospects are looking precarious after she was caught cheating during a history exam, not to mention the maths test fiasco. Will Dom manage to regain her standing as a grade A student and finally strike the perfect work-life balance?
Plus, her family's money troubles haven't disappeared, which means more problems are likely to arise in season two.
Sid was outed - Now what?
Sid started the series with a girlfriend but by the end, his family, friends and fellow Grand Army students knew that he was gay after he was outed by his sister's ex-boyfriend.
It was a painful experience for the star of the swim team, who spoke about that previously unknown part of his life in his application to Harvard.
And clearly, it resonated with the admissions team because they offered him a spot.
We'd expect season two to continue to explore Sid's sexuality, tackling the highs – his romance with Victor, the student who helped him with his college essay – and the lows – prejudice from those around him.
Will Leila figure out her identity?
Leila didn't exactly paint herself in glory in the first season of Grand Army.
As the episodes rolled on, she became increasingly more self-obsessed, only concerned with her own happiness as she used those around her to further her own ends.
We also discovered that she was the person who sent the fake terrorist threat, loaded with racist language, to the school.
But beneath her grotesque behaviour was a yearning to understand her birth parents and culture. Leila, though deeply unpleasant, was failing to grapple with her sense of self and drowning as a result.
But will she be able to seek some of the closure that she clearly needs in the next chapter? Will she finally feel at peace in the life that she leads?
