Greece: 20,000 protest in Athens on anti-junta revolt anniversary

Twenty thousand people protest in Athens to mark the anniversary of a 1973 student revolt against a US-backed junta, an annual event that often sparks violence. Twenty four people were killed at the Athens Polytechnic in 1973, when the junta sent troops and police against a pro-democracy student uprising. The demonstration on Wednesday remained peaceful into the evening.
