SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Guoco Tower, GuocoLand’s flagship mixed-use development, was awarded the 2019 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Global Awards for Excellence, together with 10 other winners. Notably, Guoco Tower is the only awarded project that hails from Singapore. Other winning projects are from other countries including the US, China and Russia.

A press release by GuocoLand says that winning projects show “a comprehensive level of quality and a forward-looking approach to development and design”. Guoco Tower has also been recognised for its placemaking efforts, especially in the rejuvenation of Tanjong Pagar.

At 290m, Guoco Tower is Singapore’s tallest building. It is a mixed-use development with premium Grade A offices, retail and F&B spaces, a five-star hotel Sofitel Singapore City Centre, residential homes at Wallich Residence, and an Urban Park.

Guoco Tower presents “an urban solution to increasing land scarcity in Singapore by creating a high-density development that is also highly liveable”, says the release.

GuocoLand adds that it will also implement placemaking strategies for Guoco Midtown, following Guoco Tower’s success.
