ALOR STAR: Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is expected to present the Pas leadership’s stand on its political cooperation with PKR at his presidential policy speech at the party's 63rd Muktamar here, tomorrow evening.
Pas Ulama chief Datuk Dr Mahfodz Mohamed said the party leadership received 30 motions from states to review and sever its 'tahaluf siyasi' with PKR.
“For more details, I urge all delegates to listen to the president's mandate on the matter (tomorrow night).
“The Syura council has studied the relations since last year but there had been no decision yet.
“We have to study this properly, as it relates to many other issues. I hope all delegates will be patient,” he said in his winding up speech at the Ulama assembly here, today.
Meanwhile, Ulama deputy chief Datuk Dr Mohd Zawawi Salleh stressed that the party worked with the government to table the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355).
He said therefore, claims that Pas was conspiring with Umno and Barisan Nasional to present the bill was not true.
“We were working with the government, not Umno or BN. Everyone must be clear about this.
“The government does not represent any party but is responsible for the trust given by the people,” he added
