KUCHING: Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s son, Muhammad Khalil is now the new party Youth chief.
Khalil, who was previously Pas Youth deputy chief, won the post uncontested.
Pas Nomination Board secretary, Wan Rohimi Wan Daud, in a statement today, said there were also no contest for six other posts in the movement.
This included the wing’s deputy chief, which will now be helmed Khairil Nizam Khiruddin. He was previously the party Youth vice-chief.
Kelantan Pas Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari will fill in the post vacated by Khairil.
Meanwhile, Kamal Ashaari has been named the Pas Youth permanent chairman and Dr Riduan Md Nor was declared as his deputy.
Mohd Shahir Abu Hassan and Muhammad Ali Rajaie Jamaluddin were today named as the wing’s auditors.
Wan Rohimi said a total of 14 candidates were vying for the 12 committee member positions in the movement.
It was reported last week that Hadi and his deputy, Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, won their posts uncontested when nominations for the party's election was closed this year.
The announcement was made by Pas secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan via the party’s official Facebook.
The party's 63rd Muktamar (assembly) would be held in Kedah from April 29 until May 1.
