Han Zi Hao Hopes Win In Yangon Will Build His Name In ONE Super Series

Han Zi Hao is not a man who is happy to sit and wait on the sidelines.

Just seven weeks after his last match in ONE Championship, the Chinese kickboxing ace will make the third ONE Super Series appearance when he takes on Ryan “The Filipino Assassin Jakiri in a bantamweight kickboxing bout.

The contest will take place at ONE: PURSUIT OF GREATNESS on 26 October in Yangon, Myanmar.

The 23-year-old says is keen to jump back into action and showcase his growing skillset at the atmospheric Thuwunna Indoor Stadium.

“I want to defend my honour and win against him,” Han says.

“I also want to make myself stronger and more outstanding through the international stage.”

Han’s journey of regular competition and constant improvement in the world’s largest martial arts organization in July at ONE: REIGN OF KINGS.

He was back in action a few weeks later with a dominant decision win against Stergos “Greek Dynamite” Mikkios at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON in Shanghai, China to claim the 58th win of his kickboxing career.

“Before the bout, I watched my opponent’s videos,” the Top King Muay Thai World Champion explains.

“I felt that his boxing style was very heavy, but unstable and a little messy. I asked my coach to train me by imitating his attacking rhythm.

“He was about the same height as my opponent, so I was able to adapt to his attacking rhythm in advance, and that made it easier to win.”

His latest outing will see him face off against Jakiri, who will be making his ONE Super Series debut.

The Filipino national Muay Thai champion has a 9-3 record, and Han says his sharper skill set, honed over the course of his vastly superior level of experience will stand him in good stead when they meet in Yangon.

“The advantage is that my attacking rhythm will be stronger,” he says.

“Also, my knee strikes are better than his.”

After a difficult start to his career in ONE, Han has found his groove and is looking to establish himself as a serious threat to the rest of the bantamweight division as he chases his dream of winning a ONE Super Series World Title.

“Winning every bout is very meaningful to my career,” he says.

“I can find my own shortcomings and improve everything in my training.”
