'Handmaids' Protest as Senate Judiciary Committee Approves Barrett Nomination

Protesters gathered in Washington as the Senate Judiciary Committee approved Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court on Thursday, October 22, reports said.

Barrett’s nomination, following the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, sparked controversy due to the proximity of the presidential election on November 3.

This footage shows protesters dressed as characters from the dystopian Margaret Atwood novel “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The footage was filmed by Refuse Fascism, an anti-Donald Trump group that has attended numerous Barrett protests.
