Harvey Norman's flagship store at Millenia Walk is big, pretty, and filled with gizmos

In the works for quite some time, Harvey Norman has finally opened its flagship store at Millenia Walk. Covering three levels, and taking up 100,000 square feet, the superstore is said to house the biggest range of electrical, IT, furniture, and bedding products in Singapore.

With a store layout designed to be more like a departmental store than a typical IT megastore, the first level features home and kitchen appliances, A/V, cameras, computers, gaming, and connected health and fitness products. According to Harvey Norman, there’s no other store in Singapore that has as wide a range of A/V products (especially large screen TVs) and health and fitness wearables. Also, many kitchen appliances there are ready for use, primarily to facilitate cooking demonstrations.

The second level is home to sofas, dining sets, outdoor and office furniture, as well as homewares. Again, Harvey Norman is boasting of the biggest range of furniture labels in the city. You’ve Saporini leather sofas; Oliver B and Alf furniture from Italy; Hilker leather sofas from Germany; Marie Claire, French inspired furniture; and over 2,000 fabrics from Warwick, an U.K. and Australia fabric house.

And finally, the entire third level is devoted to bedding products (for both adults and kids), with over 100 mattresses and over 100 bed frames. Mattress brands like Hilker, King Koil, Sealy, Simmons, and Tempur each has its own area to showcase their premium mattresses. Like the second level, this bedding floor is carefully and fully furnished, to make it look like an apartment (or parts of an apartment) so that you can envision how the products will fit in your own home.

Three levels of shopping goodness!

Of course, as a tech publication, we’ll say the first level excites us the most. Almost every tech brand we can think of are under the same roof at Harvey Norman at Millenia Walk. To get a brief idea of how large the first floor is, we had a live Periscope video recording of the store posted on our Twitter channel while we were there this afternoon for its grand opening.

Here then are some of the key highlights of the store you should check out:-

1. Samsung CenterStage - The CenterStage from Samsung aims to bring a new interactive shopping experience. Using a Samsung 85-inch UHD display with eight 46-inch LFD displays, it showcases the entire Samsung digital appliance lineup. You can interact with it to find out more info about the products, and how they fit in your home (because of the large display, the products can be rendered life-size onscreen).

2. Fujifilm’s Wonder Photo Shop - Resembling an old-school classroom, this concept shop is designed to inspire customers to print and craft their own photo works, be it wall art, scrape books, or stickers, with the new Fujifilm Instax range.

3. Microsoft Store-in-Store - Said to be the first of its kind in Asia, this is a big area where you can experience the latest Surface hardware products, as well as Windows and Office software. You can also play Xbox games and take part in workshops. Since Microsoft is unlikely to open its own store here anytime soon, this is perhaps the best place to hang out if you’re a Microsoft fan.

Here are a few more snaps of the store. Trust us, this is just a fraction of the brands that the superstore carries.
