Hayley Kiyoko adds her makeup-free photo to the celeb selfie trend
Let's not get it twisted, the absolute legend that is Hayley Kiyoko is not scared to keep it real.
In fact, her Insta feed is a pretty-much endless scroll of straight-talking coolness - when she's not sharing clips of her riffs / her guest slots on RuPaul / her ability to knock TikTok dances out of the park, she's stirring up support for important causes and speaking out.
She's also blessed with the glowiest skin, so she's partial to minimalist makeup - but today she took it to a whole new level, sharing a barefaced selfie to her stories, captioned "LOVE U KEEP GOING" with a bunch of purple heart emojis.
Her selfie comes after a whole host of celeb no make-up selfies shared over the past few months while famous faces lost their minds with boredom on lockdown / have jetted on holiday and picked up a boastworthy glow / have given up on makeup all together.
There was Perrie Edwards' cute foundation-less freckles, Megan Thee Stallion's makeunder, JLO's astonishing glow, Ellie Goulding's make-up free snap and Britney Spears's bare faced grid-shot. And not forgetting queen Gaga, with a no make-up selfie that we didn't even clock at first glance.
Each and every single snap we've seen has been gorgeous, helping to normalise real skin on instagram and fight against the rise of the plastic-surgery filter - and for that, Hayley et. al, we thank you.
I'm also loving how Hayles is 100% leaning into her grungy, grown-out roots too - it's a look.
Anyone else setting their alarm for 15 minutes later tomorrow morning? I, for one, am not about to sweat off a full face of makeup in this heat.
