Alas, there are a couple curveballs to contend with. In 2020, heavenly heartthrobs Venus and Mars will both abandon their duties for temporary retrograde phases. From May 13 to June 25, Venus reverse commutes through Gemini, the sign of cooperation and communication. Mixed signals and ridiculous game-playing could mess with the good thing you had going on. And if you have a wedding planned during those days, we advise sneaking to City Hall beforehand to secure a more astrologically appropriate “real” wedding date. (No parents have to be informed!)

From September 9 to November 13, Mars turns retrograde, and will be acting like a fuckboi this time around. The randy red planet is backspinning through its home sign of Aries, doubling down on the obnoxious (egregious) antics. Our reptilian brains are still evolving, and Mars retrograde will reveal this. Even the most principled human may still have a hardwired sexual response when the neighborhood Khal Drogo struts by—and the red planet’s backspin doesn’t help anyone think rationally.
