It's been 84 years four months since rumors first started that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are getting divorced—but despite the fact that they're selling their house and are reportedly no longer talking, they haven't filed papers to formalize their (alleged) split just yet. Why, you ask?
Ahem! According to an Entertainment Tonight source, the pair are "waiting to announce their official split, because they want to make sure everything is seamless when they do, especially with everyone involved. Neither of them want this process to be rushed. They are treating the separation with as much grace, understanding, and gentleness as they can."
I mean, makes sense. And on top of that, ET's source says "They want to make sure the kids are comfortable with the transition and where they are living, etcetera. They don't want to make it feel like they're pulling the rug from underneath their children. They're making a mutual effort to ensure that this transition is as healthy and easy as possible."
Oh, and another insider told the outlet that "Ben really likes his new home and feels hopeful about the change. It’s been a hard time for him, but he’s continuing to make his wellbeing and his family a priority."
Meanwhile, "the timing of the transition" apparently made J.Lo's birthday "difficult" but she got through it with friends and family. Happy to hear that!
