"Natural births are so empowering. Good job mama and dad! Beautiful family," someone commented.

"Love that your daughter was with you in the water for the experience!," another shared.

"How birth should be," added another.

"I wouldn't want my toddler in the tub with me during that!," someone else sounded off.

"The sibling in the water, too...," another wrote, along with a vomiting emoji.

"Banks in the water too is kind of gross," another person chimed in.

"I love Hilary Duff so much, but having her daughter in the pool with her during her water birth was pretty disgusting? I don't know," one fan tweeted.

Another fan pointed out that it's possible the photo was staged, and that Banks was not actually in the water while Duff was giving birth.

"It's likely a photo opportunity. Possibly even the next day. Why are we so concerned by this it sounds like naysayers past traumas and self-shame that they need to work on," they wrote.
