Holly Willoughby looked stylish and autumnal while hosting This Morning in a plum coloured leather skirt this Wednesday (28 October). She styled the Boden number as part of a smart casual look and shared a snap of the outfit to her Instagram page.

Holly matched the skirt with a pale blue cashmere jumper and purple suede heels, but it would look equally lovely worn with camel, browns or black.

Leather skirts are ideal for livening up autumn winter outfits and adding an edge to knitwear season. Opting for a plum or brown tone softens the leather look and takes it away from the punky image.

Made with real leather, the full mid-length skirt costs a considerable £350 from Boden. While it's certainly an investment piece that would last forever, faux leather options can make the autumnal look more pocket friendly.

Faux leather is also preferable to vegans and those who avoid animal products.

This Monsoon skirt comes in at £60 with a similar shape and colour, also finishing at a flattering mid length.

If you aren't sure about purple, this brown M&S skirt is a deep rich colour to rival the plum, cut in an a-line style. Cheaper still at £35.

Or you can switch things up and stick with the purple leather look but in a pencil style.

Leather skirts in every shape and colour have been spotted across the high street and high end this season and it's such a wearable way to switch up your wardrobe.
