While Buster was jailed for abusing Ollie (Aedan Duckworth) in 2019, he escaped justice for what he did to Brody years earlier.

In Monday's first-look episode on E4, Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) supported best friend Brody by accompanying him to the prison where Buster is serving his sentence.

Brody went into this face-to-face confrontation with his abuser intent on demanding an apology, as told through painful flashbacks to his partner Sienna (Anna Passey).

"I want to hear you say sorry for the things you did to me," Brody demanded. "You can try to belittle me all you want, but you are so inadequate."

Buster first insisted that it was Brody who owed him an apology "for all the lies", taunting him about whether he was still in Brody's head.

He then demanded Brody tell him why he "kept coming back" — and then, and only then, would he apologise. Brody took tremendous courage in explaining how Buster manipulated him into believing he needed to sustain the abuse to become a football star.

"That's why I kept coming back for more. Not because I wanted to. I hated you," he insisted.

It was ultimately Damon's intervention that convinced Buster to apologise, when he offered to visit his father regularly.

"I just want you to know I'll regret everything I did until the day I die... because none of what happened was your fault," Buster finally told him.

However, when Brody returned to the prison with Ollie to get apology for the lad, the abuser revealed he'd only apologised to get his son to visit him.

"You can say anything you want to us, but it doesn't change the fact that we're 1,000 times the man you are," Ollie insisted.

Though Ollie stood up for himself in the moment, Cindy and Luke later discovered a note in which Ollie confessed that he wasn't coping — making it appear that he'd run away.

Adam Woodward has confirmed that there will be further repercussions when Ollie and Brody reconcile being manipulated by their abuser again.

"At first, Brody thinks he's got what he wants, but Ollie finds out about it and questions Buster's intentions," Woodward has said. "So when Brody goes back to the prison to meet Buster with Ollie, he quickly realises that the only reason Buster gave him an apology was so that he could manipulate the situation in his favour.

"And then everything comes crumbling down around Brody once again."

Hollyoaks airs first-look episodes Mondays through Thursdays on E4, with repeat screenings at 6.30pm on Channel 4 the following evening.
