Home and Away birth certificate shows that Evan and Owen were twins

From Digital Spy

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away officially confirms the identity of newcomer Owen on UK screens next week.

Channel 5 viewers have recently seen Cameron Daddo return to the soap in a second role, just weeks after his previous character Evan Slater passed away.

Newcomer Owen has come to Summer Bay by chance, sparking confusion and bewilderment as he looks identical to Ryder Jackson's late father.

In the next few days, Owen agrees to stick around in the Bay for a while after Ryder (Lukas Radovich), Roo Stewart (Georgie Parker) and Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) explain that he could be Evan's long-lost twin brother.

As seen in these spoiler pictures from next week, this theory proves to be bang on the money when Owen arranges for his birth certificate to be sent to him.

Owen is shocked to realise that Evan was indeed his twin, but they were separated at birth and adopted into different families.

It's an emotional moment as Owen realises that he missed his chance to get to know his secret sibling and they'll never be able to strike up a bond.

As Owen wants to feel a connection to Evan, he asks Ryder and Roo whether they'd be willing to share their memories of him.

Ryder is happy to comply and goes a step further by letting him borrow Evan's guitar.

Later, everyone is moved as they hear Owen strumming along on the instrument, which is another poignant reminder of Evan.

Roo starts to find the situation increasingly difficult, as she is slowly accepting that she fell in love with Evan during their final days together.

Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) tries to convince Roo to open up, but will she be honest with her loved ones?

Home and Away airs these scenes on Wednesday, September 30, Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2 at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
