PETALING JAYA, May 16 — Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin confirmed this evening that Pakatan Harapan (PH) has been formally registered by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

Muhyiddin was named as home minister by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Saturday and will oversee the RoS once he assumes office.

The PPBM president’s remarks also confirm a RoS letter leaked online that recognised the pact.

“This happened without my involvement as I have not yet been sworn in. The registration was done by the very same RoS that rejected PH before,” he said to applause from the 10,000 strong crowd at the Himpunan Merdeka Rakyat rally in Padang Timur.

Muhyiddin conceded that there were some issues regarding the registration before, but said these have since been resolved.

The registration certificate was circulated on social media this evening.
