Hong Kong celebs mourn Hideki Saijo's passing

21 May – Hong Kong celebrities recently took to social media to express sadness over the death of veteran Japanese singer Hideki Saijo.

As reported on Mingpao, singer William So, who heard the sad news recently, recalled attending Hideki's concert back when he was still young.

"Life is very fragile, thus we should live in the moment. I will always miss my idol, Hideki Saijo," he said.

Aaron Kwok, who is currently filming in New York, shared that he was saddened by the news, especially since he has performed with Hideki before.

"We sang "YMCA" together at the Fukuoka Music Festival in Japan. He was a great guy, very friendly. I am honoured to have cooperated with him. His death is a great loss to the industry," he said.

On the other hand, Kenny Bee also took to social media to mourn the loss, saying that he was shocked by the news.

"It reminded me of Anita Mui, who was a big fan of Hideki," he said.

Known as one of the most popular Japanese singers of all time, Hideki Saijo passed away from acute heart failure back on 16 May. He was 63.
