How to Watch the Apple News on Tuesday (Pacific Time)

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Apple will host an event near its headquarters at which it will almost certainly announce its new iPhone, and likely two new iPhones. We’re also expecting Apple to unveil a watch, and maybe a larger iPad. And we expect to see mobile payment technology that will let you pay for things in stores by just tapping either the new phones or the watch on a terminal at checkout. These new gadgets may also have ultra-tough sapphire glass displays.

That’s some of what we know so far. We’re expecting other announcements and hoping for a few surprises.

Yahoo Tech will be on the scene to keep the score on all the news and rumors.

In fact, we created a rumor scoreboard just for this event. We’ll start updating it live, in real time, during Apple’s announcement on Tuesday, Sept. 9, which starts at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Check out the Yahoo Tech Apple liveblog for all the news. The scoreboard is on that page. (If you want to embed this rumor scoreboard in your own sites or Tumblr blogs, go for it! Click the Embed button to get the code to put into your pages.)

This is just a picture of the scoreboard. See the Rumor Scoreboard Live (and get an embed code).

We’ll also be liveblogging (reporting in real time) from the announcement. David Pogue will be providing live commentary, joined by Alyssa Bereznak, me, and a photographer to bring you all the news as it happens. The Apple event starts at 10 a.m., but we’ll start our live coverage before then (around 9 a.m. Pacific, possibly earlier) to bring you the buzz from the Apple event center leading up to the live announcements.

Here’s where to watch everything unfold live:

Watch it yourself: Apple will be live-streaming video of the event

Once the event is over, we’ll stay online with our audience to field questions and discuss what we’ve just learned. After that, expect video reports from any product demos just as soon as we can turn them around.
