Huda Beauty is financially helping freelance makeup artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic

Beauty mogul Huda Kattan is helping makeup artists weather the COVID-19 storm financially.

The entrepreneur, whose brands include the cosmetics label Huda Beauty and the skincare line Wishful, recently announced in an Instagram video that her company intends to give a cash boost to makeup artists struggling as a result of the ongoing public health crisis.

"I started out as a makeup artist," the star told the camera, having detailed some of her worries about the financial impact the coronavirus will have on people, particularly freelancers. She also spoke about the precarious financial situations she experienced as a makeup artist and when she was establishing Huda Beauty back in 2016, and her desire to help makeup artists who are unable to work due to the widespread lockdowns occuring in countries all over the world in response to the crisis.

Huda Beauty will give $1,000 USD to 100 freelance makeup artists, with entries closing at 12:00am Gulf Standard Time on March 25. "Please tag a freelance MUA that you know who is finding these times tough & share why you've put them forward," the Instagram caption read.
