Humanitarian crisis in Gaza: 2 million at risk of famine
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has reported a critical humanitarian situation in Gaza, where only 30 trucks of aid are entering daily — just 6% of the pre-war supply levels. The reduction has left more than 2 million people facing severe shortages of essential resources.
In Al-Zawaida, a displaced persons camp in Gaza, the Palestinian news agency Wafa captured images of children lining up for food.
According to the latest figures from the Palestinian health authorities, at least 43,341 people have been killed and more than 101,510 wounded in Gaza, since the Israel-Hamas war began on 7 October 2023.
