Hurricane Teddy Waves Crash Onto New Hampshire Seafront

Coastal New Hampshire and Maine braced for high surf as Hurricane Teddy spun in as a Category 2 storm on Tuesday, September 22, reports said.

The National Weather Service in Boston warned of “dangerously high seas” and strong wind gusts as Teddy moved north.

This footage shows Teddy’s strong surf hitting Ocean Boulevard on Hampton Beach in New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon. The storm had “diminished” to a post-tropical cyclone by Wednesday morning, according to the NOAA.

Residents in Nova Scotia reported power outages as the storm continued northward, with winds forecast to double in strength. Credit: @WeatherReMarks via Storyful
