Despite being relatively new in the automotive market, Hyundai's KONA Electric is already celebrating a substantial achievement, as it recently surpassed the 100,000 global sales milestone.
Since its launch in March 2018, total sales of the KONA Electric has reached a total of 103,719 units by June 30. International sales outside of its home market in South Korea accounted for more than three quarters of the total purchases.

Inside, it sports a floating touchscreen that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, along with a wireless charging pad for your smartphone.
Standard safety tech features include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW).
The KONA is no stranger to accolades, bagging quite a few titles already despite only being in the market for about three years.
In 2018, Auto Express named it the Affordable Electric Car of the Year, and it also won the 2019 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year award.
More recently, the inaugural TopGear Electric Awards awarded KONA the Best Small Family Car title, based on its outstanding performance during a 24-hour, 1,600-km European road trip this April. U.S. News & World Report also bestowed the KONA the Best Electric Vehicle title.
Following up on KONA Electric’s already promising legacy, Hyundai Motor Company is prioritizing on achieving its zero-emissions mobility mission. By 2025, the company aims to sell 560,000 battery electric vehicles in addition to fuel cell EV models.
