Hyundai unveils the new Tucson at Auto Expo

Hyundai motor India limited today showcased the new Tucson at the Auto Expo. Just like Maruti, which launched the Vitara Brezza the Korean car maker is trying to revive a failed sub-brand in India. The SUV that was first launched more than a decade ago in India is making a comeback targeting the premium SUV space in the country. Another comeback SUV from Hyundai in India, the Santa Fe has had a fairly successful outing since its relaunch at the previous Auto Expo.

The big change in the Tucson this time around that it comes with a fluidic sculpture design, a philosophy all cars from the Korean car maker follow in India and has worked really well with the Indian buyer. There are a lot of design similarities between the Santa Fe and Tucson. The hexagonal grille is familiar and so are the swept back headlamps that come with daytime running LEDs. The Tucson will be launched in the market before the year ends.

In addition to the Tucson Hyundai also a presented a sub 4-mter SUV codenamed the HND, a segment the Korean car maker is keen to be a part of. Hyundai is also showcasing the luxury brand Genesis at the Expo along with the sub-brand N, which builds on the company’s international motorsport experience.
