Ignite PH announces the finalists for the Startup World Cup Philippines regionals

Ten startups are vying for the chance to represent the country at the Startup World Cup Finale.

Ignite PH, in partnership with The Startup World Cup and Slingshot ASEAN, has announced the top 10 finalists to compete in Startup World Cup Philippines Regionals.

Startup World Cup is an event organised by Fenox Venture Capital, dedicated to launching and advising the world’s next wave of leading entrepreneurs. They host over 20 startup competitions globally, with the winners to compete in the Startup World Cup Finale in Silicon Valley.

Ignite PH is the first innovation conference by Philippine-based media company TechShake.

The Philippine regionals will be held on October 20, 2017 in the Philippine Convention Center, at the main stage of Slingshot ASEAN.

The 10 finalists to compete are:

1. Aide – an app that allow users to search, choose and book medical professionals.
2. Ayannah – provides digital financial services to emerging middle class, mostly the migrants and unbanked.
3. Beam and Go – a platform that allows overseas Filipino workers to purchase supermarket gift certificates, medicine, mobile load, personal care, electronics and more online that they can send through mobile for their family to redeem at participating store
4. Doxcheck – provides a secure and simple solution for document security
5. Edukasyon – a social enterprise that aims to democartise access to higher education and help students make better-informed choices.
6. Flyspaces – a digital marketplace that provides short-term work and meeting space solutions to entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs and mobile professionals.
7. Qwikwire – a cross-border billing and invoicing platform for enterprise, offering customised payments processing solutions to real estate developers, banks, BPOs, and billing services
8. Stash – a health tech company working on claims management platform for health insurance companies and doctors in the Philippines.
9. STORM – the largest flexible benefits and incentives firm in the Philippines, serving over 100,000 employees of the most admired companies across different industries.
10. Zennya – a platform that offer 5-star spa services on demand

Winner will represent the Philippines in Silicon Valley for a chance to win US$1M investment. The top 5 startups will also receive an all expense paid trip to the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in Silicon Valley on May 2018.

Slingshot ASEAN aims to create a regional network of ASEAN ecosystem players including startups, angel investors, incubators, mentors, academe, co-working spaces, and industry experts. It showcases investment-ready startups for potential local and international investors as well as facilitate easy access of information between governments running startup development programs in the region. It will take place on October 19-20, 2017, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
