Ikea removes picture of young boy from stores after Hitler comparison

Ikea has removed a picture of a boy from one of their stores after his curious pose drew complaints from shocked customers.

The image, featured in a store in Cardiff, Wales, shows a young boy with a finger held across his lip, pretending that he has a moustache.

However, his pose was likened to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler - perhaps not the best association a company would want.

Stevie Davies-Evans tweeted the picture, writing: “Saw this in a “Bedroom” in your Cardiff store yesterday. Inappropriate much? #Hitler.”

The furniture giant has now confirmed that they have removed the picture, apologising to customers who were offended by it.

Ikea Cardiff store manager Richard Owen said: “We can confirm that a photograph that could cause some offence to some of our customers was found in our store.

“We often use photography to illustrate life at home in our room sets and as soon as we were made aware, the image was immediately removed.

“We apologise for any offence the image may have caused.”
