Iloilo City Crime Down 19%

ILOILO CITY, Iloilo (PNA) - This city continues to be generally peaceful as crime incidence dipped based on data for the month of November.

A report from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), indicated crime volume last month decreased by 18.8 percent after registering only 78 incidences compared to 96 committed during the same period last year.

Crime solution efficiency also increased by 26 percent from 45 percent in November 2011 to 71 percent this year.

Index crimes, including murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft and carnapping decreased by 25 percent from 72 last year to only 54 in November 2012.

Theft (20 cases), physical injury (17 cases), and robbery (11 cases) comprised most of the crimes committed.

Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog hailed the ICPO for a job well done in ensuring the safety and security of Ilonggos, visitors and investors here.

"I commend our policemen for maintaining peace and order in the city and for doing their jobs to the best of their ability," Mabilog said. "Iloilo City continues to be a magnet for investors because their safety and security are guaranteed here."
