Imran Khan Arrives at Islamabad Court After Arrest Ruled Illegal
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was accompanied by a large security presence when he arrived at the Islamabad High Court on Friday, May 12.
Khan was arrested on Tuesday, but his detention was deemed illegal by the country’s Supreme Court on Thursday, after two days of widespread protest in which several people died.
Khan was ordered to appear before the Islamabad High Court on Friday to face the corruption charges that led to his arrest, national media reported.
Footage from outside the Islamabad court showed Khan flanked by security as he arrives.
The hearing was adjourned until after Friday prayers shortly after it started, national media reported. Credit: @mugheesali81 via Storyful
