Injured Carter to miss Racing's Top 14 semi-final

All Blacks legend Dan Carter will miss Racing 92's Top 14 semi-final against Castres on Saturday with a hamstring injury, but should be fit for an eventual final, a club source told AFP. The two-time World Cup champion, 36 and Japan-bound at the season's end, suffered a thigh strain on the eve of the European Champions Cup final that ruled him out of that match, which Racing went on to lose to Leinster. Remi Tales, who took Carter's place on the bench for the final and then the place of the injured Pat Lambie after just three minutes, should be given the number 10 shirt against his former club Castres. Versatile half-back Antoine Gibert, 20, will likely be named among the replacements, able to cover both Tales and Teddy Iribaren, starting at scrum-half in the absence of Maxime Machenaud, also injured. Castres' influential hooker Jody Jenneker will also miss the semi-final after the LNR, the body that runs professional rugby in France, handed him a three-week ban. The South African was red carded in last week's play-off victory against Toulouse for having struck Maxime Medard.
