‘Interesting player’: PSG manager discusses Bernardo Silva transfer; City urged to sign Neymar
Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has played down links to Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva but was high in praise of his performance against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Portuguese playmaker was signed by AS Monaco from Benfica in August 2014 after being discovered by Luis Campos, who is now a director at PSG.
Silva then joined the Cityzens for £45million in 2017 and has barely put a foot wrong on the pitch on the way to helping the Premier League giants win four titles (soon to be five), a FA Cup, and four League Cups.
Barcelona were very interested in signing Silva last summer and multiple reports say PSG have made him their top priority ahead of the summer transfer window.
City do not tend to stand in the way of players who want to leave the club as long as their valuation is met, and the former Benfica youngster should be no different.

Amidst PSG’s links to the 28-year-old, Galtier has praised him but remained coy over the situation.
“First of all, Bernardo Silva is a Manchester City player,” said Galtier in a press conference.
“I think many of you have seen his last game [against Real Madrid], where he was very good. He is a player I discovered when he arrived at Monaco when Luis Campos recruited him.
“He was very good, he was part of the champion team of Monaco. He is obviously an interesting player, but I repeat again, he is a Manchester City player.”
Silva has personally said that he “will see what happens” regarding his future when the season comes to an end.
Meanwhile, the future of PSG superstar Neymar is up in the air.
His wages will be a huge cause for concern, however, as is the potential transfer fee the French champions will ask for.
Former Manchester City midfielder and Neymar’s fellow Brazilian, Elano, has urged his old club to sign the 30-year-old in the summer.
“If I had that strength, I would want him to go to Manchester City,” Elano told Metropoles.
“It would be good for him to work with Guardiola, I think I would give advice, I wanted him to go to City.
“I can try to do that, because of our friendship, but it’s not that simple.”
