Is Lee Seung Hoon of ′K-Pop Star′ the Next Rising Star?
While it was his first time on a variety program, SBS K-Pop Star’s, Lee Seung Hoon foreshadowed the birth of a rising star.
His surprise appearance on the May 8 broadcast of SBS’ Strong Heart was special from the start. Unlike the other nervous K-Pop Star contestants, Lee Seung Hoon attracted attention due to his very relaxed and confident posture.
On this day’s broadcast, he exerted his talents in his self-introduction after appearing in the studio with Lee Michelle and Kim Na Yoon.
After introducing himself as the ‘Hip-hop Lion Cub,’ a nickname that was created during the K-Pop Star competition, Lee Seung Hoon spontaneously addressed MC Lee Dong Woo, saying, “My father’s name is Lee Dong Woo. I want a hug from you.”
Receiving MC Shin Dong Yeop′s blessings, Lee Seung Hoon ran towards Lee Dong Wook, who hugged the contestant and added, “Yes, my son!” causing the entire studio to explode into laughter. Following that, Lee Seung Hoon intimately asked Lee Dong Woo, “Did you go to the bathhouse? You smell just like my father.”
Lee Michelle also asked to receive a hug from Shin Dong Yeop, but instead of the intimacy seen from before, the hug ended up being very awkward.
Lee Seung Hoon was a popular figure on K-Pop Star, who was acknowledged by judges and viewers for his innovative and powerful performances, showing his star qualities at each round in the competition.
He was expected to be eliminated in the initial rounds, but with his honest lyrics and ideas inserted unto the stage, Lee Seung Hoon was able to climb up to the top 4 spot. Although his vocal skills were lacking compared to the other contestants, Lee Seung Hoon shined like no other, despite the fact that it was his first appearance on a variety program.
Meanwhile on Strong Heart, the top three contestants of K-Pop Star, Park Ji Min, Lee Ha Yi, and Baek Ah Yeon, shared their stories after the competition. Lee Seung Hoon, Lee Michelle, and Kim Na Yoon made surprise appearances on the show and will share their experiences in the May 15 broadcast.
