Jacob Elordi Says He Shot Down ‘Superman’ Audition Because It Was “Too Dark” & Why He Has No Interest In Superhero Films
Jacob Elordi is opening up about why he’s not interested in starring in a superhero film and the reason behind he shot down an audition for Superman: Legacy.
In a recent interview, the Euphoria actor revealed that he received a proposal to test for the role of Clark Kent but turned it down immediately.

“Well, they asked me to read for Superman,” he told GQ. “That was immediately, ‘No, thank you.’ That’s too much. That’s too dark for me.”
The role of Superman would ultimately go to David Corenswet who would be playing the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s take on the superhero.
Although Elordi grew up admiring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, he doesn’t see himself in a superhero movie.
“Not particularly, no. I’ve always been told to say a rounded answer or my agent will get mad at me. ‘Anything can happen!’ ” he said. “And obviously anything can happen, but at this stage in my life, I don’t see myself having any interest in that. I like to make what I would watch, and I get very restless watching those movies.”
Elordi, who stars in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla playing the role of Elvis Presley, says he didn’t like starring in The Kissing Booth series of films that made him a star.
“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies,” he revealed. “Those movies are ridiculous. They’re not universal. They’re an escape.”
The actor said that he has been called pretentious for seemingly being ungrateful for the opportunities that he has gotten.
“How is caring about your output pretentious?” Elordi said. “But not caring, and knowingly feeding people shit, knowing that you’re making money off of people’s time, which is literally the most valuable thing that they have. How is that the cool thing?”
