James Carville Says Donald Trump's Campaign Has 'Smell' Of 1 Thing Right Now
Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville on Monday voiced his optimism over Kamala Harris’ campaign, once again saying he believes she will beat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
Harris’ campaign feels “disciplined” and “organized” while Trump is “trying a new message every other day” and his team is “blaming each other already,” Carville told MSNBC’s Ari Melber.
Carville drew on his lengthy political experience, which has included being on the losing side of elections, when he said: “I kind of know what they feel and look like and my chief takeaway is that the Harris campaign does not feel like it’s losing.”
And although he didn’t have polling data to back up the claim, he said: “I do know smell when I smell it and his [Trump’s] campaign has the smell of a loser, to me.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Carville said he was so confident of a Harris victory that he would “sleep well tonight.”
