If you're feeling overwhelmed at the amount of new beauty brands launching, you're not alone. Turns out that mega influencers Manny MUA and James Charles both have some thoughts on the subject, which they have now apologised for.

This week alone, we've had TikToker Addison Rae announce her beauty line, Selena Gomez confirm the date her range (Rare Beauty) launches and an announcement from Alicia Keys, that she's partnering with e.l.f Cosmetics for a skincare line.

As celebrity fragrances have fallen out of favour, more and more public figures have pivoted to the makeup and beauty world.

Lady Gaga, Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, Milly Bobby Brown, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore, Kesha, Victoria Beckham, are just a handful of celebs who now have their own makeup lines.

While it wasn't originally clear which latest launch pushed YouTuber Manny MUA over the edge, we now know his tweets were in reference to Alicia Keys partnering with e.l.f Cosmetics.

"Does anyone else get slightly irritated when celebs come out with entire makeup lines? especially when those celebs don’t even wear makeup... i’m like girl," he had written.

Clarifying his point further and responding to a follower who name checked Kylie Jenner and Rihanna, Manny wrote:

"See with Rihanna and Kylie i get it tho.. they’re glam girls! they wear makeup, they’re known for their makeup so i can see that.... but some other people I'm like HUH?!"

In a tweet that has since been deleted, but not before Reddit could screenshot it, James Charles also weighed in:

"I'm sick of people who have no business coming out with makeup brands, coming out with makeup brands."

However both YouTubers have now issued public apologies to Alicia for their shady tweets and taken full ownership.

In a lengthy tweet James said it was "childish to indirect tweet someone" and that he wasn't the "gatekeeper of makeup". He also admitted that he hadn't read the full story about Alicia's collaboration and assumed it was a makeup line, when in fact she's launching skincare.

Manny also apologised, admitting that he wrongly assumed she was releasing makeup and was "irritated" as she publicly "stopped wearing makeup years ago".

We're kind of proud that both Manny and James owned up to their mistakes and apologised to Alicia and we for one cannot wait to try her line.
