James Corden laughs off claims he doesn't even drive during Carpool Karaoke
James Corden has responded to claims that he doesn't even drive his car during Carpool Karaoke, poking fun at the whole saga.
In case you missed it, footage emerged this week of Corden filming the latest edition of the segment with guest Justin Bieber.
However, it showed that the car was actually being towed around town by a truck rather than being driven by Corden, suggesting our lives had all been a lie.
The presenter has now responded to the whole controversy, making light of it with a hilarious tweet.
"Guys, we don't even use a real car," he joked, accompanied by a picture of himself with Samuel L Jackson during a Pulp Fiction skit.
And it seems that the furore may have been somewhat overblown, with a Late Late Show executive producer clarifying that the rig is only used for "stunts".
Ben Winston tweeted: "We only use a rig when we are doing a 'stunt' as part of the Carpool - when it would be impossible for James to drive! This has occurred only maybe 4 times in 50 or so carpools... Safety is key!"
Meanwhile, Corden recently appeared on UK screens in the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, and following its success, many have speculated that the show could return for more episodes.
Star Joanna Page recently responded to the rumours, admitting that while she had "no idea" if they would do more, if she "had to put a bet on it, [she] would say yes".
