James Reid and Nadine Lustre finally confirm breakup
21 Jan – After much speculations, James Reid and Nadine Lustre finally confirmed that they have indeed ended their romance after four years.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the former real-life couple and onscreen partners shared the bad news via a joint-statement which was announced on the 20 January episode of "Tonight with Boy Abunda".
The statement read, "It's true that we have split up, but not for all the reasons that are being spread on the tabloids and social media, but because after quiet and mature conversations, we decided to focus on ourselves not only for our careers but more for our personal growth as we are still young and we want to achieve as much as we can."
However, both Reid and Lustre stressed that they are still on good terms with each other and will continue to collaborate with one another, especially in their music.
It is noted that Lustre is signed with Reid's record label, Careless Music Manila.
"Thank you for all the JaDine fans for their undying support and we hope you continue to support us now and in the future. We shall forever be grateful to them for their love and understanding. Thank you," they added.
The couple, who have been together since 2016, sparked breakup rumours earlier this month after Lustre shared an ambiguous post on social media. However, fans immediately shared recent photos of Reid and Lustre together on social media to dismiss the claims.
