Japanese YouTuber halves his weight from 137kg to 68.5kg within a year
Finding a suitable diet and exercise plan can be intimidating for some. Even if you managed to find one, it can be difficult to sustain the motivation to complete the regimen as well. But for Japanese YouTuber Ruibosu, he found both the will and determination over this one year to make his weight loss come true.
Formerly morbidly obese, at 137kg with 42.9% body fat last September, Ruibosu has since halved his weight to 68.5kg with 18.6% body fat! What was once a round and bloated belly has evolved into six-pack abs:
In the beginning, he could not do much due to his size. But the important thing was to work around what he could do, such as:
leg raises;
skipping rope;
crunches;
And planking.
After three months of perseverance, his weight dropped from 137kg to 108kg — that is about 10kg every month!
Even on days with heavy rain, Ruibosu would still execute his exercise plan because of a promise made with himself.
Despite finding it uncomfortable to take and look at pictures of his body at the start, Ruibosu continued pushing on and exercising within his limits.
He also tried out a variety of challenges: incline push-ups, incline pull-ups, weight lifting, and even kickboxing. Ruibosu admitted that taking up kickboxing was nerve-racking at first, but it was actually pretty fun.
Before long, Ruibosu gradually lost weight over one year and was rewarded with a much more toned body with defined muscles and abs. But what is even more stunning is how his features appeared a lot sharper after losing weight, as if he had become another person.
A netizen joked that even his family, whom he has not met for a year, would not recognise him. Another said, “His friends would be confused if this handsome guy appeared a year later.”
Needless to say, Ruibosu has become a source of inspiration for those wanting to lose weight. His resilience and hard work have undoubtedly won the respect of many.
