MANILA, Philippines - Jasmine Curtis is not worried that she is not as visible nowadays, admitting that it is her personal choice, eager as she is to finish high school.
The 18-year old was last seen early this year in the mini-series "Nandito Ako" opposite David Archuleta.
She is currently finishing her 12th year at the prestigious Loyola College, located in Watsonia, Melbourne, Australia, where her parents are based.
Curtis admits that the idea of her finally graduating from high school is making her "nervous."
"Kasi pagkatapos ng high school, tapos na ang ritual na every day, alam mo talaga kung ano ang gagawin mo," she said in a recent interview with PEP. "'Pag nagtatrabaho ka or college ka, it differs talaga every day kung ano ang schedule mo."
A TV5 contract artist, Curtis hopes she'd be able to accommodate more work if and when she starts college.
"Well, pinag-uusapan pa rin naman namin. Kung didiretso man ako sa pag-aaral, puwede akong mag-move dito and online na lang yung pag-aaral. Kasi may ways naman to work around that para kahit paano habang nagtatrabaho, nag-aaral din," said she.
As of the moment, Curtis is happy to continue with her endorsements.
"Kung ano po talaga ang meron. I mean, super blessed rin naman po ako kasi yung mga endorsements ko ang lalaki ng brand. Wala na talaga akong i-complain," she said.
Curtis says she could only be thankful with the trust given to her by these brands despite her being in Australia most of the time.
"Despite my absence dito, despite na wala ako sa mga events nila to promote, they still trusted me to be their endorser, and for me that's more than enough na," she said. "If I can compare myself to other newbies, I have so many things I should really be thankful for."
Curtis is apparently not in a hurry to reach the level of success that her very popular sister, the actress Anne Curtis, currently enjoys.
"Of course, darating rin 'yan. One at a time lang naman. One year and half pa lang naman ako, I can't expect na pareho na 'yung workload namin," she said.
"Ako, easy-easy lang. Steady lang muna kung anuman ang maibibigay sa akin, tatanggapin ko."
Not that she doesn't want to be as popular as her sister.
"Of course, hindi ko naman sinasabing kebs [walang pakialam] ko, di ba? Ano lang, it comes with the work I do. So, kung sisikat ako ng kasing sikat ni Ate, why not? Pero kung hindi, enjoy ko na lang yung trabaho ko. Bakit pa ako choosy, di ba? And I get paid. Ano pang iku-complain ko?"
