Paris played host to a sea of stars as celebrities including Boy George, Bella Hadid and Paris Jackson attended the final fashion show of Jean-Paul Gaultier on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the French fashion designer made the unprecedented announcement that his upcoming show at Paris Fashion Week would mark his final Haute Couture runway.

The 67-year-old said: “This show celebrating 50 years of my career will also be my last. But rest assured Haute Couture will continue with a new concept.”

Gaultier added that the show was going to be “quite a party with many of my friends”, a prediction that appeared to come to fruition.

The range featured a variety of sheer, flared and conical creations, in keeping with the fashion designer’s avant-garde aesthetic.

Gaultier famously designed the cone bra corset worn by Madonna during her Blonde Ambition tour in 1990.

Models including Winnie Harlow, Karlie Kloss and Gigi and Bella Hadid took to the runway, while singer Boy George delivered a musical performance on stage.

Harlow later expressed her gratitude on Instagram for being included in the designer’s milestone moment, writing: “Thank you for including me in your vision!

“Your love and kindness from the first time I met you and told it would be a dream to walk for you to TODAY walking for you has me full of so much joy and gratitude! I’m honoured.”

Kloss also shared a post on the social media platform describing how she felt to walk the runway for Gaultier, stating: “Your creativity and vision have never ceased to amaze me.

“It has been a privilege to bring your irreverent creations to life, a rush and feeling I will always treasure.”

Also in attendance at the show were former first lady of France Carla Bruni, singer Christine and the Queens and Paris Jackson, who made her runway debut.
