Jean Paul Gaultier to design Target collection

Jean Paul Gaultier is teaming up with supermarket chain Target on a fashion collection.

The French designer will work with the store on a range of womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and homeware, Australian Vogue reports. The collection will comprise around 100 products and will launch in Australia in 2016.

"Every time I've been to Australia I've been impressed by the laid-back, unstuffy confidence that Australians display with their fashion -- it resonates with my design philosophy and has such synergy with my own approach to fashion and style," the designer said.

Affordable collaborations are becoming a habit for the high-end designer, who launched a collection for the Japanese retailer Seven & i on October 1 this year.
