This week has seen a steady stream of Batman news released, as production on Matt Reeves’ upcoming superhero film has really kicked into gear.
Not only did we get our very first look at Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, but Zoe Kravitz’s promotional work for High Fidelity has seen her answer a variety of questions on her performance as Catwoman, too.

Jeffrey Wright has now joined in the fun as well, taking to Twitter to release the very first look at the Bat Signal for the film.
OK, the image is far from the clearest, but it’s still great to know that Wright is already hard at work as Commissioner Gordon, a role that he is inheriting from J.K. Simmons, who ultimately only played him in Justice League. Gary Oldman’s take on Gordon in The Dark Knight trilogy is what Wright will be trying to eclipse, though.
While new information regarding The Batman is now seemingly being released on a daily basis, we’re still a bit in the dark about what the film will actually entail. At the moment, it’s being reported that it won’t be another origin story for the superhero, and will instead take place in Bruce Wayne’s second year as Batman.
There’s a good chance then that Gordon and his fellow Gotham City officers are still a little peeved by Batman’s vigilante efforts.
However, it’s likely that they’ll warm to him over the course of The Batman, especially as the film’s packed ensemble is going to also include Paul Dano as The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
We’ll get to see the trouble they cause for Pattinson when The Batman is released on June 25, 2021.
