Jennifer Aniston and her ex-husband Brad Pitt gave the people what they wanted tonight at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, having a joyful and affectionate reunion backstage that was captured on camera. But before that happened, Aniston spoke candidly about what she thinks about the obsession everyone has with her and Pitt reuniting this award season.

"It's hysterical," Aniston told Entertainment Tonight on the SAG Awards red carpet. "But what else are they going to talk about?"

Pitt also spoke to Entertainment Tonight about a prospective reunion with Aniston at the Golden Globes. He was pretty good humored about it. "I'll run into Jen, she's a good friend," he said, making a little joke about how much the public craves it. "The second most important reunion of her year? I understand," he added, clarifying, "That was a play on Friends. They were saying that [the cast may do a reunion special on HBO Max]."

But Pitt and Aniston's interactions throughout award season have garnered a lot of headline attention. Tonight at the SAG Awards, they both made headlines for their filmed reactions to each other's SAG victory speeches. At the Golden Globes, they got significant media coverage for their reunion at an after party (it was not photographed) and Aniston went viral for her reaction to Pitt's Golden Globes speech.

Aniston and Pitt are seriously friends...and just that. Ahead of award season, a source spoke to Us Weekly about their platonic connection. “Brad and Jen have a wonderful connection that might seem flirtatious at times,” a source said. “They dig each other’s sense of humor and have an infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that.”
