Jennifer Coolidge to Return for ‘White Lotus’ Season 2

At least one “White Lotus” guest is returning for Season 2. Jennifer Coolidge will return for the second season of Mike White’s HBO satire, according to reports.

Reps for HBO and Coolidge did not immediately respond for comment. TV Line was first to report on Coolidge returning.

The second season will leave the Hawaiian hotel that gives the series its namesake for a new locale with a different group of vacationers. Coolidge will likely be playing a completely new character.

Coolidge played Tanya McQuoid, an often-drunk middle-aged heiress who books a trip to the hotel with the intention of scattering her dead mother’s ashes.

“The White Lotus” is described as a social satire set at an exclusive (and very upscale) hotel at a Hawaiian resort and follows a few group of key guests who include a couple of newlyweds, a family on vacation and a wealthy heiress, as well as the hotel staff. Along with Coolidge, the first season starred Connie Britton, Steve Zahn, Alexandria Daddario, Jake Lacy, Murray Bartlett, Sydney Sweeney, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell and Molly Shannon.

The series is created, written and directed by White, who also serves as its executive producer. David Bernad and Nick Hall also executive produce, with Mark Kamine as co-executive producer. According to the network, “The White Lotus” grew its audience each week on HBO and HBO Max to become the top series on the streaming platform. It drew 1.9 million overall viewers for its finale.
