Let's be real: parenting is a full-time gig. You get paid in love, spit-up, gray hairs, and crayon artwork pieces. It's absoluely beautiful. But if you're Jennifer Garner, sometimes your kids (her human spawn, that is, not her chicken babies) might actually try to pay you in cash. Wait, what?
Actress Jennifer Garner shared a photo to Instagram last week of a *pretend* piggy bank check that her seven-year-old son Sam wrote to her as a monetary "thank you" for being his mom. The check was dated on December 25, for the amount of $168.42 for "being my mama" (aww!). She captions the photo "Apparently, birthing and raising someone is valued at $168.42. I guess I should keep my day job." She adds the hashtags #iwouldbehismamaforfree and #ohwaitialreadyam.
The hilariously heartwarming photo racked in over 250,000 likes and caught the attention of other celeb parents like Mindy Kaling, who commented "Hahahaha." Other users inquired how her son came up with that specific amount. One user chimed in (and this is where I start to tear up) "I would say it was probably all he had in his piggy bank so he is saying she is worth everything."
While we're always looking for the next trendy piece to bring into our homes, its special faux piggy bank checks like this that really make a house a home—you sure can't buy priceless pieces like this off Amazon. If you're like Garner and are accumulating a collection of junior artwork, consider creating a DIY clipboard wall to showcase those precious chicken scratch musings and art class masterpieces. Or if you really want to display your kid's art and/or cute notes, you can have a custom rug designed from it.
