Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes have reportedly split up

From Cosmopolitan

Love is officially dead, guys. Marking the first major celebrity split of 2020, Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes have reportedly broken up after 16 months together.

According to reports, the pair parted ways a few weeks ago while isolating separately during the coronavirus lockdown after the relationship "run its course", though they still remain on good terms (which is something, we guess).

"Jesy and Chris split up a couple of weeks ago. It was all very amicable and they're still really good friends," a source told The Sun Online.

"Jesy rang Chris and led the conversation about their relationship and both agreed that it felt like it had run its course - they're both absolutely fine."

Jesy only recently opened up about their relationship in Little Mix's Cosmopolitan UK cover interview.

“He’s just a very positive person. Chris is in a world of his own. He’s not normal. Everyone who meets him says, ‘I’ve never met anyone like him.’ It’s cute," she revealed.

"I think, ‘I’d love to be in your head.’ There [are] no cares or worries. He’s just in Chris land.”

The pair started dating in January 2019 after they slid into each other's DMs and went public in March after a brief split. Chris last posted a sweet picture of him and Jesy on his Instagram grid on March 1, while Jesy shared a snap from the BRIT Awards red carpet in February.

Jesy recently told an Australian newspaper that they hadn't seen each other "in ages", but didn't mention any problems with their relationship.

The Little Mix singer told The Sunday Telegraph: "Chris isn't with me right now because he is in isolation with his flatmate, so I haven't seen him for a while."

Chris and Jesy are yet to address the split but we hope they're both doing OK because break ups are never easy.

Right, now can we just cancel 2020 already?
