Jimmy Choo isn’t proud of his achievements yet.
The shoe designer is famed for creating high heels for many of the biggest celebrities in the world. Despite his immense popularity, the star insists he still has a long way to go before he’ll be happy with what he has achieved.
“I’m most proud of the British Council still using me to promote the UK. I’m also proud of Malaysia for using me as an ambassador. Am I proud of my achievements? Not yet,” he told Prestige Hong Kong. “I always feel honoured that I get to travel and speak on behalf of my country and the British Council, but I still have lots more to do. If I were proud of my achievements already, I would not have the drive to be better, to work harder and achieve greater things. I have many other dreams. I even thought of getting my own TV show and doing more educational talks.”
Jimmy lives and breathes shoes. He is so fond of towering heels he even wears them himself, explaining he rarely leaves the house without a pair of platforms.
“If I were a type of shoe I would be a shoe with a heel. I love heels. I wear three-inch platform men’s shoes when I’m out,” he laughed. “You just have to get used to it, and it has to be comfortable. Some of the shoes you see in the magazines are so pretty, but when you actually try them, they hurt badly. You can admire them, but you can’t wear them.”
